Monster Mash with FP3x3PW

 I think that’s the acronym that’s becoming popular?

This battle of the Fast Play 3x3 Portable Wargame was a fantasy edition! Though, to be honest, it would work for any light or heavy medieval figures. Bugbears being ambushed by goblins. Humorously, I even used my dvd case of the 1980’s Dungeons and Dragons cartoon as a base for the battlefield!

The bugbears start with a hill on the bottom left square, which provides tactical advantage in combat, but is fated to go unused the whole fight!

The goblins moved first, bringing all of their units onto the field. The Bugbears moved aggressively, hoping to close the distance before the goblin missile units could strike.

Fierce fighting saw a lot of close combat stalemates between the two sides.

Then the goblins gained the upper hand!

The bug bears and goblins all consolidate at the top right corner, except the goblin javileneer, who decides it’s a good idea to let loose on the grid even though it might harm the others in his warband! 

Everyone finds themselves pushed back or wounded. Each side is one slain figure away from victory…or defeat.

The first to fall was a goblin! The goblin war chief sounds the retreat, and the bugbears have protected their hilly land from one more threat!

Once again a blast, and I’m happy to see the Grenadier bugbears back in action after who knows how long?
