Hello! I’ve had radio silence for a bit. Between the Independence Day celebrations, preparation for the birth of my third, and the heat (106 Farenheit/41Celsius) I’ve had little drive to do much of anything war games related. It’s also difficult to set something up when the 2 year old takes an interest…
Before: My beloved second-born has taken an interest in my hobby, huzzah! I’ll let her play and then, years down the road, I’ll strike! She will game with me!!!After: Sigh, she’s over it. And now I need to rebase a few men.
Haha! It’s worth it to let my kids enjoy my hobby in their own way, but there’s no setting something up for later in the day right now. And by the evening, I’m exhausted!
I’ve been working on a solution however, by reorganizing the war chest to house a compact and variable set of terrain elements and figures. Currently I’ve got my 15’s in rotation, they’re the smallest and easiest to maneuver in a small game area. My portable war chest is the minimalist system I need right now to get any gaming in. Back to basics, as it were.
In my next post, I’ll be showing the one project I have been working on over the last couple of weeks, much larger than our miniature interests!
My children got very briefly interested back in the 2000s - it was fun while it lasted!
ReplyDeleteMy oldest enjoys dungeons and dragons, but being 9 it helps to have some other people to play with her. Unfortunately, the rest of my family is not interested; aaand my friends who I play with periodically have trouble being kid-friendly with their words…so no 9 year olds at the table for her sake!!! Haha
