A very brief post as an interim between painting peasants and playing Chainmail. I had a spare mounted sergeant in my order from scale creep, so I painted and based him individually. I even used some of the grass to flock his base, making him the first figure I’ve ever flocked!
The horse, mid-process. I really love the color I chose for the saddle leather; unfortunately it is covered by the legs of the mighty warrior nestled atop it.
The sergeant before adorning his shield. I decided after finishing him that I wanted him to look slightly different than the stands.
Unimpressive pre-varnish shot.
Just thought I’d post my painting progress on him since it took me three days to finish. Busy week. I’m likely to play something tomorrow if I can manage after work! I’ll definitely be adding this guy in as a new character.
Also, this is my 100th post!!! Thanks friends for reading and hanging in this long with me!
These are great little figures !
ReplyDeleteThanks! BlackHat/Fighting 15’s Crusades figures. I think the dismounted knights are some of the best sculpts I’ve seen in any scale, and these mounted sergeants (who were the iffiest of the bunch) painted up great and have a LOT of character. They’ve become some of my favorites.
DeleteWell done, and congrats! I haven't quite got to my 100th yet, but inspiration like this will help...
ReplyDeleteThanks! You’ll make it for sure, you always seem to have a lot of content you’re working on, playing, or studying. Meanwhile I’ve had two packs of minis and an unfinished sci-fi novel that I’ve been “working on” for about 3 weeks now…lol!
