Search Party...and Monster Hunt?

Sir Reginald II has gathered a small retinue of trusted men after the village elder of Bleudingle complained of missing peasants and reports of “monsters” creeping out of a nearby cave and stalking the wood. Having a difficult time keeping order over his newly inherited fiefs (the late Sir Reginald I was slain by a dragon on his way to Cobblewall), the young lord feels it obligated to personally investigate.

A view of the field and the cave.

The list of encounters (if any were found) and the goals of Sir Reginald II’s party.

On the first turn, Reggie II and his men (the faithful Felstadt and two yeoman archers) encounter the missing hunters. They proceed to secure a safe return to Bluedingle for them, with no resistance. Once the peasants are safe, they continue deeper into the forest.

The hunters found. Shaken but alive, they speak of horrible noises coming from deep in the forest.

The party proceeds further. The forest is quiet...too quiet.

To be continued...

  1. The cave is very effective indeed. I use natural scenery in terms of twigs and stones. I like the idea of bringing the outdoors indoors and the contrast with the metal or plastic figures.
