My family went all in this Christmas on providing me with plenty to paint and play.
New brushes! Two boxes of Perry HYW English army! Two boxes of Dark Alliance Goblins! And finally some Essex 15mm medievals (13th century)!
Moreover, I received a copy of J.R.R. Tolkien’s translations of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, Pearl, and Sir Orfeo! I’ve long wanted to read the tale of Gawain and the Green Knight, but I was intimidated by the Middle English. I’ve read hours of Tolkien, though.
My brother-in-law 3D printed me stone dungeon walls. They interlock at the ends and can be turned 8 ways in connection. Here they are setup with some of my other terrain as a town to be explored.
Finally, on Christmas Day itself I received a parcel in the mail from all the way in the Duchy of Tradgardland. 17th century troops (muskets, pike, and even horse) to bring my games forward a few centuries, and French Foreign Legion (Bleudingle Foreign Legion?) for 19th century gaming! Thank you once again Tradgardmastare! I’m now looking up uniforms of the era and a general theme for their combat.
With my birthday arriving in January, and the rumor of more plastic and lead, I’ve got my work cut out for me! There shall soon be more variety than maille and lizard men in the Barony!
Looks like a great haul. Looking forward to seeing what you do with it. Happy New Year!
