It has been a long week, with no gaming, and very little fun. But, I have accomplished two things, I’ve read my Bible every day, and painted figures every day. Both are helpful and healing. So without diving into the week any further, I’ll dive into my accomplishments!
Please forgive the poor quality of the photos, due to cleaning a lot of my supplies have been put up for a bit, including my fancy lamp. I’ve painted a lot of my 15’s this week by taking it slow. That’s two stands of archers, 1 bill, 1 spear, 1 stand of knights.
A stand of knights with maces and heater shields. Two on the stand looked better than three to my eye, so they have a bit more room to swing their mighty clubs of command.
Finally, the archers. Always so close to my heart. I love archers. I don’t know why. Maybe it’s because they are always the right choice of supporting cast for knights, maybe it’s the sound of arrows whistling, maybe it’s a (probably misremembered) story of a young William Marshal valiantly defending a town with only a company of archers and a handful of knights.
I have done two stands to form a proper block like I see in most stand-based games, a precursor to the other infantry units. I’m still keeping a handful of my 15’s individually-based, however, for small skirmishes…which we all know are my comfort zone!
Better pictures and some action reports to follow, I’m just trying to figure out the new job—rather, how to avoid the workplace politics of the new job!
Good progress on the hobby anyway - these figures look perfect for a Fast Play PW
ReplyDeleteThat’s what I was thinking. Eventually, if we move somewhere wargaming clubs exist, I wouldn’t mind trying out some of the larger games like DBA and such.
DeleteA good productive week, looking forward to hearing how they get on in battle.
ReplyDeleteI’ve got a couple more units I’m painting up, then we’ll see their first foray. I’ve also become entranced with some Khurasan figures that may be worthwhile friends and foes to my Essex boys, if I order them.
DeleteLooking good, before you know it you'll have an arny.
