My 15’s saw some action tonight in a couple games. I did a fast play 3x3 portable Wargame and a game with my mint tin rules.
The field of the 3x3 PW, when the attacking force routed the defender’s spears in the first turn, as well as made contact with the defender’s bows.
Both games ended up being an absolute one-sided slaughter purely from the roll of the dice. Both ended within 5 minutes. But it was nice to see the figures on a field and gaming. I’m currently working on the other stand of bills and spears, as well as a stand of crossbows, using my new painting system!
I’ve started glueing figures to old cardboard coasters I have lying around. I can hold and rotate it to paint up colors from the same palette on every figure. It allows me to do a small batch quickly.
I think I’m going to mess around with using Kaptain Kobold’s d6 melee rules withy individually based figures. I figure I can accommodate armor with adding an armor save roll. I don’t know, it’s an idea.
Good to see the figures in action and looking forward to seeing these others painted.
ReplyDeleteI know I said it before, but those figures really look just right for the FPPW. Your rotating painting stand is a nice idea. Cavalry figures are always awkward. Recently I have started painting their legs first then gluing them onto the horse and finishing the upper half later!
ReplyDeleteThat’s what I tend to do with the cavalry figures too! I just like to put the base coat on first while it’s out. I can always touch up with a lot less paint. With that man-at-arms on the painting tray, I ended up just holding him by the tip of the lance, since most of him is steel!
DeleteI use blue tack to stick them to craft sticks, then pick them up by the stick. This works for 15mm, and 1/72 plastic, but not for bigger figures. I like your rotating/container idea.
